Abstract

  The study explores the readings of Holy Quran developed in the Indian subcontinent from the first century when Islam came to the Indian subcontinent by the peoples of Islamic businessman, they established islamic schools and madaris islamia in the different areas of Hindustan.

In the beginning of Islam, reading of Quran was simply in Indian subcontinent it was developed while practice of Ilm e Tajweed and ilme Qiraat and established of Islamic schools and Islamic madaris in all cities of Hindustan. So ilm e Tajweed and ilm Qiraat both are very importance for Muslim men and woman, without Tajweed and Qiraat sometime lost importance of prayers.

Internal and external criticism has been used as tool of research. Qualitative research design has been used. The data has been collected personally by the researcher. Relevant documents as well as data collected from participants have been analyzed using the thematic content analysis. The study is significant for the researchers, teachers, and learner of ilm e qiraat.
